Our team at Evergreen Heating & Air LLC has extensive experience in the HVAC industry, and we want to help you keep your home or business warm this winter. If you are experiencing problems with your heating system, you can turn to our team to get the effective solutions you need.
While we do our best to respond to every call for heating repairs as quickly as possible, there’s a chance that you might have to wait a few days before our technicians can get your system working again. In this article, we will provide a few tips for how to stay warm during that time.
- Use a Space Heater or Fireplace- If you have a space heater or fireplace, you can use these heat sources to keep your space warm and comfortable while your central heating system is out. Make sure to use your space heaters properly and observe good fire safety practices.
- Add Insulation- Another thing you can do to help keep your property and everyone in it safe and warm while your heating is out is to add temporary insulation. By this, we mean you should close all your doors and windows and close the curtains or blinds as well—every layer you can put between yourself and the outdoor air will help prevent heat from leaking out. If any windows don’t have curtains, you can cover them with sheets or towels. We also recommend that you keep all interior doors shut to keep the heat concentrated in the room you are in.
- Cuddle Up- A third thing you can do to stay warm while you wait for heating repairs is to gather as many people as possible into one room. The more people you can add to a room, the more body heat will collect in the space, and the more the air will warm up. The best way to stay warm is to cuddle up to one another to share body heat, but even staying nearby will help.
